Community Service
The Italian American Club
of Boise is not only a vehicle for social gatherings, but also a strong
group of concerned individuals who believe in giving back to our community
by monetary contributions, service, donations of time and abilities to
organizations which are working to make this great city (and surrounding
cities) a little nicer to live in. Almost Current Events
Above: IAC President, Agostino Bonaminio, presents our check for $1365 to Karen Vauk of The Idaho Food Bank. This is the result of the 2010 Golf Tournament held in August 2010. Joining President Bonaminio for the presentation are (l to r) Joe & Diana Dechristefero (Golf Tournament Chair) and Joyce & Joe Sposito (Treasurer and Vice President). This partnership between the Italian American Club of Boise and The Idaho Foodbank has be ongoing for many years and is the driving force behind the Annual Golf Tournament.
Some of the past organizations and events we have been involved in are below... December 15, 2004, the
club presented $250 to Security After Frightening Events (SAFE, Inc.).
Their mission is to assist domestic violence victims in need of immediate
services for their safety. Some examples of SAFE,Inc. services are:
They also provide education
to the community on domestic violence and cooperate with other organizations
in assisting victims.
There funds are utilized
only in immediate need situations when other resources are unavailable.
The Domestic Violence
Unit of the Boise Police Department established the fund because they
saw the need and wanted to do something to offer assistance to domestic
violence victims that were unable to receive help immediately from normal
channels.
